Introduction

At Icebreaker Labs, Inc. ("Icebreaker", "we", "us"), we take protecting your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information we collect about you when you use this website, our mobile apps, communications services, and other products and services (collectively, “our products”). This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect:

  • On the website and any of our mobile apps.

  • In email, text, and other electronic messages between you and Icebreaker.

  • Information provided to us through software applications we host or operate.

  • Through your social media platforms connected to your Icebreaker account.

As used below, “our products” refers to all of the above. By using any of our products, you agree to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, with dates posted upon each revision. By continuing to use our products, you agree to those changes.

‍Who Can Use Icebreaker

Icebreaker is a business product and you must be eighteen (18) or older to create an account. This is an eligibility requirement, not a content rating.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If you believe we hold any, contact privacy@icebreaker.xyz and we will delete it.

The Kinds of Personal Information We Collect

‍Information You Provide or Request: This may include:

  • Information that you provide by filling in forms in our products, including payment card information and other payment details. Payment details are collected only through our own checkout and are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers, and no payment information is collected through our API or through a connected AI assistant;

  • Information that you provide directly or by adding or linking external accounts. This may include name, email address, postal address, telephone number, wallet address, social media handle and content you publish on this social media handle or any other identifiers through which you may be contacted online or offline;

  • Information about your connections on an external account you link. When you link a LinkedIn, X or GitHub account, we receive information about your connections on that platform so that you can search and organize your own network. For each connection this may include name, employer, job title, location, professional biography, public profile handle, and the fact of their connection to you;

  • Professional and business contact information, where you request it. When you ask us to enrich a person or a company, we obtain professional information about them, which may include a work email address or business telephone number, from publicly available sources and from licensed third-party data providers. We retain what is returned so that the same request does not have to be made again;

  • Details of transactions you carry out through our products and of the fulfillment of your orders, as you may be required to provide financial information before placing an order;

  • Records and copies of your correspondence, including email addresses, if you contact us;

  • Transcripts of your interaction with our site’s live chat; or

  • Details regarding how you found our products and how you intend to use them, if applicable. You also may provide information to be published or transmitted to other users of our products, or third parties (collectively, “Your Contributions”). Your Contributions are provided at your own risk. Additionally, while we will take every measure to ensure Your Contributions are displayed only to authorized users, we cannot control the actions of other users of our products with whom you may choose to share Your Contributions. Therefore, we do not guarantee that Your Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.

  • If you submit information to us that we believe places your privacy or security at risk, we may immediately delete that information.

‍Information Collected Automatically: As you navigate through and interact with our products, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Your IP address

  • Usage details, including the total time you spend on our website, the time you spend on each page, the order in which those pages were visited and the internal links clicked, the general geographic location from which you access our products, which browser and operating system you are using to visit our products, and the referring website;

  • Performance details, including monitor page load times, CPU/memory usage, browser crashes and React component rendering; or

  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our Website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Website.

Information We Do Not Collect: Other than the payment information described above, we do not collect or maintain information about a person's finances or creditworthiness, criminal or litigation history, health, or other special categories of data.

In this policy, "personal information" means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with an individual, including the categories described above.

Any person may ask us to access, correct or remove information we hold about them, whether or not they use Icebreaker, by emailing privacy@icebreaker.xyz.

Social Media Sharing

Icebreaker products include social media features, such as the ability for a user to link their social accounts. If you consent to link your social accounts, we may share content you have published with other authorized users of Icebreaker products.

‍How We Use Your Information & Why We Collect It

‍We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • To present our products, and their contents to you;

  • To manage our relationship with you;

  • To communicate with you on how to use our products;

  • To market our services and features;

  • To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it (including to interact with our affiliates or subsidiaries, or third parties that we contract with to provide our products on a white label basis);

  • To enable you to port, manage, or activate contacts, profiles, or other data that you voluntarily choose to import from third-party platforms;

  • To compute signals describing the connections and relationships between people, to organize and rank search results, and to develop and improve the methods we use to produce them, in each case only within our products;

  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights under our Terms of Use, including restricting access to our products from specific Prohibited Jurisdictions (as defined in our Terms of Use);

  • To allow you and other Icebreaker users to participate in interactive features on our products;

  • To help facilitate the ongoing development of our products;

  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information; or

  • For any other purpose with your consent.

We do not use your personal information to train AI or machine learning models for any third party.

‍Disclosure of Your Information

‍We may disclose aggregated information, and information that does not directly identify any individual about our users without restriction. We may disclose personal information we collect as described in this Privacy Policy:

  • To our subsidiaries and affiliates;

  • To AI assistant and agent platforms you choose to connect. If you connect Icebreaker to a third-party AI assistant or agent platform, that provider transmits your requests to us and receives our responses. Their handling of that information is governed by their own privacy policy;

  • To data and enrichment providers who supply or enrich professional and business contact information;

  • To infrastructure and operations providers, including cloud hosting, database, search, logging, monitoring and customer support providers;

  • To payment processors, for subscription billing;

  • To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us;

  • To fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;

  • To provide you with notices about your account, including expiration and renewal notices;

  • To a buyer or successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of Icebreaker’s assets, whether as a going concern or as a part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding;

  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information; or

  • With your consent.

We require these providers to process personal information only on our instructions and for the purposes of providing our products. A current list of the subprocessors we engage is available to customers on request.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;

  • To enforce or apply our Terms of Use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes; or

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Icebreaker, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection, credit risk reduction, or identifying malicious actors using our products, or Icebreaker’s affiliates or subsidiaries.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, in each case as those terms are defined by applicable law.

‍Data Security

‍We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. We use passwordless sign-in methods, including email links, OAuth with providers you choose, passkeys, and cryptographic wallets you control. There is no Icebreaker password for you to manage or for an attacker to steal.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our products. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on our products.

Where Our Information Comes From

We obtain information from four categories of source: directly from you; from your own accounts on external platforms, where you choose to link them; from publicly available sources; and from licensed third-party data and contact-enrichment providers.

When you link a LinkedIn, X or GitHub account, you authorize us to import your network and connection data from that account using your own authorization. We do not store your credentials for those platforms, and we do not access any platform without your authorization.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent, for linking external accounts and for marketing; the performance of our contract with you, to provide the products you have subscribed to; and our legitimate interests, and those of our users, in operating a professional networking, recruiting and business development service. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you may object at any time using the contact details below.

Retention

Your account. We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is open. If you close your account, we delete or de-identify it within sixty (60) days, except where we are required to retain it by law or to resolve a dispute.

Content you create. Retained until you delete the content or close your account.

Request logs. Records of individual requests made through our API or through a connected AI assistant, including the tool called, the requesting account and the time of the request, are retained for thirty (30) days and are then deleted.

Professional profile and business contact information. We retain this for as long as we maintain a profile for the person concerned. We periodically refresh it and remove entries we can no longer verify. Any person may ask us to remove information about them at any time, whether or not they use Icebreaker. We do not apply a fixed period, because the purpose this information serves is ongoing.

Backups. Deleted information may persist in encrypted backups for up to seven (7) days before being overwritten.

Attestations recorded on a distributed ledger. Where you create an endorsement, relationship verification or other attestation through our products, we may record a cryptographic fingerprint of it on a distributed ledger for verification purposes. These fingerprints are designed to be privacy-preserving and do not contain the content of the attestation. Information written to a distributed ledger is public and cannot be altered or deleted by us, so a fingerprint will persist after you delete the underlying attestation or close your account.

Icebreaker MCP Server and AI Assistant Integrations

Icebreaker operates a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that allows third-party AI assistants and agents to use Icebreaker features on your behalf. You authorize this connection yourself, using OAuth, and you can revoke it at any time. This section describes the practices specific to that integration and supplements the rest of this policy.

What we receive. When you use Icebreaker through a connected AI assistant, we receive the inputs you or the assistant submit to our tools. These may include search terms describing the people or companies you are looking for; profile handles and URLs; company names and domains; and the names and membership of contact lists you create. We also receive the identifier of your Icebreaker account, from your authorization token, so that we can scope results to your own network and check your subscription entitlements.

What we return. We return professional profiles matching your request, connection and mutual-connection information, introduction paths, team membership for a company domain, and, where your subscription includes it, enrichment results such as a business email address or telephone number.

What we use it for. We use these inputs solely to fulfill the request you made, to enforce the limits of your subscription, and to protect our products against abuse. We do not use your requests, or their content, to train AI models.

What we do not accept. The integration does not process payment card information. It is also not designed to receive, and you should not submit through it, health information, government identifiers such as social security numbers, or passwords, API keys or other credentials.

What we log. For each request we record the tool called, the requesting account, a request identifier and a timestamp. We retain these records for thirty (30) days. We do not retain the content of your search queries beyond what is needed to answer the request. We do not use the content of your requests to build behavioral profiles of you, and we do not use it for advertising.

Local caching. Some tools that run locally may cache results on the device where your assistant is running, so that repeated requests do not have to be re-sent to us. This cache sits in your own file system, under your home directory, and you can delete it at any time.

Your controls. You can disconnect Icebreaker from your AI assistant at any time in that assistant's settings, which immediately revokes its access to your Icebreaker account. You can delete contact lists through our products. To request deletion of your request history or of enrichment results, email privacy@icebreaker.xyz.

We keep this section current with the inputs our MCP tools accept and the outputs they return. Last reviewed August, 2026.

‍Additional information for California residents

‍If you are a California resident, you may ask us to disclose the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources it came from, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you. You may make this request twice in any rolling twelve-month period, and the information we provide covers the preceding twelve months.

If you ask us to delete your personal information, we will delete it from our records as of the date of your request and direct our service providers to do the same, except where we are permitted to retain it. In some cases we may de-identify it instead. Deleting your information may mean you can no longer use features that depend on it.

‍Changes to Our Privacy Policy

‍It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Privacy Policy on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ personal information, we will notify you through a notice on the website or app home page, or other digital communication channel. The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting our Website and this Privacy Policy to check for any changes. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please refrain from using our website and platforms. Continued use of our products after having been informed of any such changes to these conditions implies acceptance of the revised privacy policy.
